In wickedness a smile's façade,
laughter entrances though seemingly odd
And I know your mind lies elsewhere
That I am not always in your view.
I thought to be bit more strident, though
And not to let you wander, no
But a mind has boundaries all its own.
Tangled in a listless heap, mangled from
A lack of sleep.
And intangible though, the worries were
I strove to mend them, tend them
Make them something worthier
My nerves balanced on trepidation
Lasting only through hesitation
Fangs gleam through white woolen fur.
See the balance bend, my love
See the way we break it down
Taking, pushing, building, burning
Always winding, climbing, turning
Tempting us with lights of hope
Once again our saving rope
We're always coming back around
